How do I make an appointment?
Please ring any of the surgery numbers and our staff will be pleased to book you an appointment. We can usually see you the day you require. We will always, of course, fit you in for any emergencies as an urgent priority.

I do not have my pets registered, what do I do?
You simply have either to come in to the surgery and we will ask you to fill in a form providing simple details about you and your pet(s), or you can go to the registration section of the website and complete our online registration form. It will only take a few minutes to fill out, and our staff will be happy to give you help if you require it.

What do I do in an emergency?
Please ring the practice if at all possible to allow us to prepare for your arrival, outlining as best you can what the problem appears to be. Please try to remain calm, and get here safely. If this has happened outside normal working hours (weekdays 8.30am to 7.00pm), you still ring the normal practice number - all the phones are automatically re-directed - and you will speak to a nurse who will call the vet in, and you will be seen as quickly as possible. Please note we have a locally based out of hours system; you will NOT be asked to go to Bristol to be seen. There are trained staff on duty, and a vet on call 24 hours a day.More information on the emergency service can be found on the Emergency Details page.

Can I book a home visit?
During normal surgery hours, visits can be arranged if you telephone us giving us plenty of notice if possible. In most circumstances it is in the interests of both you and your pet to be seen at the surgery. Here we can make a more thorough examination, undertake diagnostic tests if necessary (blood tests for example) and give prompt treatment. Please remember that we have to make an additional charge on top of the consultation fee for home visits.

What pet insurance do you recommend?
Due to changes in the Financial Services Act (FSA) regulations, we are no longer allowed to recommend specific companies or policies. We are only permitted to complete the veterinary surgeries section of the claim forms. We do however recommend that you insure your pets for both third party liability and for veterinary cover. Knowing that you can meet the cost of treatment gives great peace of mind. We have leaflets for various insurance schemes at all our surgeries.

Repeat Prescriptions: what do I need to do?
If your pet is on long term treatment, you may be able to ring the surgery to order more medicine. Alternatively you can go to the Repeat Prescriptions page and follow the procedure outlined there. We ask that your pet is checked at regular intervals when on longer term medicines. The longest interval is 6months, and you will be asked to come in to the surgery for a check up if we haven’t done so within the 6 month limit. This follows professional guidelines and ensures we adhere to prescribing rules.
