When asked why you have worked in a Vets, do you answer because you love working with people? Yes, we know it probably has something to do with animals too, but all of our patients tend to arrive with their humans, so we want our team members to love dealing with our clients and be part of our exceptional and inspiring team!
We are a well-equipped, modern, forward-thinking Practice as seen on Morning Live (BBC1) and The Pets Factor (CBBC), which has the aim of being the Vets of choice for clients, pets and staff. To back this up we are proud to be a Real Living Wage Employer (more about this down the page!). We are also home to the winner of 2019 Petplan Vet Nurse of the Year. Our team has grown massively over recent years and by September 2022 will have 14 Vets, 20 members of our Nursing and clinical support team plus 18 Admin Staff who work across our three North Somerset Practices situated in Portishead, Nailsea and Yatton (all 20-30 minutes south of Bristol).
“It is a fun place to work, with people who are 100% committed to working hard to produce a great service for the customers and their colleagues alike. I find everyone to be very helpful and I do feel cared for and appreciated.” Insurance Administrator Jude
Our culture is one of gold standards in all we do, forward-thinking development of the Practice and unleashing the potential of our whole team. Our exciting expansion plans for the Portishead Practice due for completion in May 2022, will mean onsite CT scanner, exotic ward, an additional theatre and total of six consulting rooms plus much more. Is it clear yet that we have big ambitions about what we do where we are going and who is going to get us there!? Do you want to join us for the journey too?
About the Role:
We are looking for a full time, experienced Veterinary Receptionist to be able to join the Practice and it is likely the role will be split between two sites. However, everyone is contracted to work across all three sites when needed. Ideally, we need someone for 39 hours per week to include some early mornings and evening shifts plus a fair share of weekend morning shifts but exact details will be discussed at interview.
“I've had a really good experience with starting to work here. It's especially great seeing how close knit the team are and watching everyone work together so well. I have been made to feel really welcome and been involved right from my first day.” RVN Talia
We are incredibly proud of the team we work with. They are all dedicated, hard-working and have fun when they can but when things get serious, they pull together to get things done. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist with an ability to WOW!! Our new team member will be someone who:
We know it isn’t all about working with cute puppies and kittens… Well maybe it is a little but don’t take our word for it –
“One major selling point about working here (that I'm loving!!) is that the Management Team care about making sure we don't overwork ourselves. From my experience, things like being able to leave on time, and getting time back in lieu when that's not possible, are pretty unheard of elsewhere!” Vet Louise.
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are committed to paying our staff a fair wage for their work. All staff receive a wage significantly higher than the Government minimum for over 23s and even more than the minimum Real Living Wage. All roles are banded within a structured pay scale framework which considers experience and additional skills or qualifications.
The other benefits we provide to the team include:
Please send CV and cover letter explaining your star qualities to Holly Charlton, Group Operations Director via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sorry but no agency applications will be considered because we want you to do the introductions!
We also welcome work experience and placement opportunities for students who are interested in pursuing veterinary care as a career. These limited opportunities are extremely popular so to ensure success we ask for students to submit a CV and cover letter to the appropriate practice detailing why they would like to undertake a placement with us. Some placements will only be awarded following an interview.
