We are a well-equipped, modern, forward-thinking Practice as seen on Morning Live (BBC1) and The Pets Factor (CBBC), which has the aim of being the Vets of choice for clients, pets and staff. Our team has grown massively over recent years and we now have 50 employees who work across our three North Somerset Practices situated in Portishead, Nailsea and Yatton (all 20-30 minutes south of Bristol).

About the Role:

We are looking for a full time, experienced RVN to be able to join the team to undertake a varied role including inpatient care, undertaking a range of nurse clinics and being the procedures nurse. Ideally, we need someone for 39 hours per week, a very fair share of OOH shifts and the occasional weekend morning, but exact details will be discussed with successful applicant. All of the team are contracted to work at all three sites and it is likely that this role will be split between two sites.

 

About You:


We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse who:

  • Will hit the ground running and raring to go – we love learning so bring your best ideas
  • Loves a busy and varied small animal case load perhaps with an area of interest which is crying out to be nurtured and developed
  • Places a high emphasis on client and patient care which is why we have invested in state-of-the-art equipment such as a full laparoscopy tower, digital x-ray and much
  • Enjoys being part of a caring team inside and outside of work – Yes, we really do love our team!
  • Has competent or advanced skills in inpatient care
  • Is comfortable with monitoring anaesthetics for routine, orthopaedic or dental surgeries
  • Sees doing our own out of hours service as an amazing opportunity for personal development, enjoyment of case continuity and giving the client/patient the numerous benefits of in-house emergency care
  • Can communicate with clarity and compassion - Communication is one of our buzz words!
  • Has evidenced competence in undertaking a full range of Nurse Clinics and loves the challenges these present

FULL TIME VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST - MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

Yes, we know it probably has something to do with animals too, but all of our patients tend to arrive with their humans, so we want our team members to love dealing with our clients and be part of our exceptional and inspiring team!

About the Role:

We are looking for a full time, experienced Veterinary Receptionist to be able to join the Practice and it is likely the role will be split between two sites. However, everyone is contracted to work across all three sites when needed. Ideally, we need someone for 39 hours per week to include some early mornings and evening shifts plus a fair share of weekend morning shifts but exact details will be discussed at interview.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist with an ability to WOW!! Our new team member will be someone who:

 

  • Has evidenced clinical knowledge (this will be tested at interview) and experience of veterinary receptionist role
  • Must understand how to triage calls and emergencies
  • Can communicate in a natural friendly manner with clarity and compassion
  • Has first class telephone manner and advanced customer service skills
  • Loves dealing with bonded clients and can wow new clients with gold standard customer care every time
  • Can carry out precise administrative tasks such as banking, payment handling and data entry
  • Has complaint resolution experience
  • Has a flexible approach and high level of computer skills
  • Is eager to undertake additional training to gain knowledge about nutrition and our Pet Health Club
  • Loves to be busy in an environment where no two days are the same
  • Will hit the ground raring to go – we love learning so bring your best ideas
  • Is happy to muck in – we have high hygiene standards in our practices!

Work Experience

We also welcome work experience and placement opportunities for students who are interested in pursuing veterinary care as a career. These limited opportunities are extremely popular so to ensure success we ask for students to submit a CV and cover letter to the appropriate practice detailing why they would like to undertake a placement with us. Some placements will only be awarded following an interview.
